Dollars for Scholars is a community group that supports activities to
raise money for scholarships for college-bound students.
Eligibility
Scholarships are awarded to current senior students
graduating from Clayton A. Bouton High School, who are about to enter a
college or university pursuing his or her first degree program at any
accredited institution of higher education.
Students who have accepted a full scholarship (tuition, plus room and
board) are not eligible.
Application and Awards
Application forms will be made available online and in the high school
guidance office by April 1. Completed application forms must be
submitted to the high school guidance office no later than 3 p.m. on May
1. All senior students eligible for graduation are encouraged to apply
for awards. Applications will be evaluated anonymously and objectively
based on numerous criteria.

2012 scholarship application [pdf].
Amount and Number of Awards
The number of awards distributed will vary based
upon proceeds from annual fundraising events, private contributions, and
endowments. Dollar amounts of awards will vary, as well, depending upon:
1) unrestricted funds available
2) establishment of designated scholarship endowments, and
3) establishment of special restricted awards
Notification and Distribution of Awards
All award recipients will be notified at the annual
Senior Awards Night in June. Award recipients will be informed at the
time as to the dollar amount of the scholarship. If the recipients' post
secondary schools are Partners or Matching Partners of Scholarship
America, the school will be notified by the Voorheesville Chapter of
Dollars for Scholars.
Should a recipient decide not to attend an institution of higher
education, or not pursue any advanced training beyond high school, the
scholarship will be rescinded and awarded to another eligible student.
