About Voorheesville Middle School Principal James Franchini
Mr. Franchini began as the principal of
Voorheesville Middle School on August 1, 2011. Before returning to
Voorheesville, which is where he was raised and attended school for
nine years, Mr. Franchini was the principal of Algonquin Middle
School in the Averill Park School District for two years. He also
served as that building’s assistant principal for four years.
Before Averill Park, Mr. Franchini worked as an
administrator at the New Covenant Charter School in Albany. Prior to
becoming an administrator, he taught for a total of five years in Albany
and Jersey City, New Jersey.
Mr. Franchini entered the education arena
through Teach for America after working for three years as a business
analyst for an information technology consulting firm based out of
Fairfax, Virginia. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Science and Technology
Studies from
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Teachers College,
Columbia University.
