Under New York State Public Health Law all
children must be properly immunized prior to their entry into school.
Minimum immunizations include 3 doses of DPT, 3 doses of polio, 3
doses of Hepatitis B, 2 doses of measles, and one dose of mumps and
rubella vaccine.
All children enrolled in seventh grade on or after
September 1, 2000, must be immunized against Hepatitis B infection. The
Hepatitis B vaccine is available in a 2- or 3-dose regimen for
adolescents. With proper physician documentation, immunizations may be
waived in cases of medical contraindication.
