About the Farm to School Initiative


Voorheesville's Farm to School Initiative, commonly referred to as F2S, is a PTA Garden Project program that helps children learn where their food comes from, how it is grown, and offers hands-on experiences with it, in turn making them more likely to accept new foods into their diet. Farm to School utilizes strategies that are designed to motivate and empower students to make healthy choices.

Farm to School Serves up Sweet Potato Fries at the MS and HS

(March 2, 2012) Using the three Tfal Actifry machines from the Chefs Move cooking equipment grant, volunteers offered samples of fresh baked fries during the lunch period.

 

Farm to School teams up with Voorheesville Middle School's BBTV

Chef Molino snack series featured during Friday daily announcements

(Feb. 11, 2012) The Farm to School (F2S) initiative has teamed up with Voorheesville Middle School's BBTV. A series of cooking videos with F2S guest chef, Brian Molino, are now part of the morning announcements. Voorheesville Farm to School initiative awarded $6,000 in cooking equipment
