Basketball Section II Tournament Playoffs

Coming Up: Boys' Feb. 22, Girls' Feb. 24

The Girls' Varsity Basketball (#2 seed) advances to the next round of sectional play after beating Lake George on Tuesday, Feb. 21. They face Duanesburg on Friday, Feb. 24, at 7:30 p.m. at Voorheesville. Boys' Varsity Basketball (#5 seed) will host Berne-Knox-Westerlo on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. If the boys advance they play again on Saturday, Feb. 25, at Hudson Valley, Noon. Sectional ticket prices are $3 for quarter final games and $6 for semi-final games. Congratulations to both teams on a great regular season and good luck in the sectionals.

Builders Club tours Albany Med., learns firsthand the importBuilders Club tours Albany Medance of its "bells" fundraiser

Voorheesville Middle School's Builders Club toured the Albany Medical Center Children's hospital on Jan. 25 and Feb. 1. The tour allowed students to understand the importance of their "Bells for Life" fundraiser. » LEARN MORE

District announces spring swim program

Register in person on March 5

The district's Spring 2012 Learn-To-Swim program will begin on March 10 and run through May  12.  A variety of classes are offered for swimmers at different levels, including a pre-competitive/varsity club and PTAP program for parents and babies up to age three. You can register by mail at any time or in person on Monday, March 5 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the pool foyer. Visit the Aquatics Web page for details.

District hosts summit to discuss shared services

HS Drama Club seeks support for production of "Little Shop of Horrors"

Ads and sponsorships for playbill requested by Feb. 17

The Voorheesville Dionysians, the high school drama club, is busy rehearsing "Little Shop of Horrors." The production is scheduled to run March 30, 31 and April 1. As a means of supporting the drama program, the Dionysians sell ads in their program and seek donations from the community. 2012-13 kindergarten: Parent information meeting set for March 15

Parents in the Voorheesville Central School District who have a child who will be five-years-old by December 1, 2012 are eligible to enroll in the district's 2012-13 kindergarten program. Voorheesville will transition to a full-day program in the fall. There will be an information meeting on March 15 at 7 p.m. for parents only. Kindergarten registration and screening process will be explained then. For more information, please contact Mrs. Michelle Moss at Voorheesville Elementary School at 765-2382 ext. 504.
