Update following Irene
Superintendent Dr. Teresa T. Snyder
(Sept. 1, 2011) The power outages caused by the effects of Hurricane
Irene have been fully restored. The high school did sustain significant storm damage to
the roof which we have had temporarily mended until we can determine
what the scope of the damage will require. We will be meeting with the
Board of Education tonight, Thursday, Sept. 1, to examine options for moving forward.
We have secured an emergency project number from SED to expedite the
processes. The elementary school sustained significant flooding but due
to advanced preparation, all materials that might be damaged had been
placed on high ground. The buildings and grounds crews and custodial
staff have been amazing across the district.
