Facebook and more

(Oct. 14, 2011) Did you know Voorheesville Central Schools is on Facebook? The district launched its official page in August as another avenue for communicating with parents and the community.

"Feedback from our communications survey suggested we could use more ways to communicate about our schools," said Superintendent Dr. Teresa T. Snyder. "We are excited to be able to offer multiple ways, like Facebook and V-News, to better inform the school community of the latest news and upcoming events within their schools."

If you would like to join the 279 fans who already "like" the Voorheesville Central Schools Facebook page, visit http://www.facebook.com/VoorheesvilleCentralSchools and click on "like."  If you do not have a Facebook account, you can create a free Facebook profile, here.

Facebook is just one of the new "e-communications" initiatives VCSD has implemented this year. Most recently, the district launched it V-News electronic newsletter. To subscribe to V-News, please sign up for the District News notification on SNN.

The district is also now using an online Google Calendar. By replacing the print calendar with an online calendar, the district is able to provide the school community with the most current and accurate way to keep track of district and school meetings, events and other important dates. It also helps the district save on printing and postages costs in this tight economy.
